A new French-American Chamber of Commerce was just launched in Los Angeles (“FACC-Los Angeles”) under the impetus of the Honorable Axel Cruau, Consul General of France in Los Angeles, with the exclusive patronage of His Excellency François Delattre, Ambassador of France in the United States, and with the support of the French-American Chamber of Commerce’s National Board. The event marks an important milestone for the Southern California’s business community, and the cusp of a new era for French-American relations in Los Angeles.
The FACC-Los Angeles was founded in order to promote the development of business and trade for its members in the greater Los Angeles Area. It will also serve as a forum for French and American business leaders to meet, discuss and share opinions on specific topics that will help stimulating growth in the Los Angeles basin and between France and the United States. The ambition of this new Chamber of Commerce is to be a one-stop shop for business creation for entrepreneurs coming from out of state or France, as well as a place of exchange. It is led by a group of young, motivated and dynamic entrepreneurs and professionals who share the same vision for creating an effective bilingual and bicultural business powerhouse in the greater Los Angeles area.
The FACC-Los Angeles was launched during an elegant reception at the French Consul General’s residence, which gathered 300 selected guests, including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Los Angeles City and County Officials. That evening, Ralph LEVY, Technicolor’s Director Strategic Planning and Business Development, and FACC-Los Angeles’ President introduced its Board Members: Gilles AMSALLEM, co-founder and COO, French Tuesdays; Pascale FORTUNAT, Founder, Passions Productions; Philippe GUILLAUD, Co-Founder – Executive Vice President, NagraID Security; Florian HEBRAS, VP & CFO, MorphoTrak; Flore KANMACHER, Attorney, Perkins Coie LLP; Romain LEFRANC, VP, Diamond Capital Advisors; Jack OIKNINE, VP, S.P. Rados; Thierry OLLIVIER, President & Founder, BrandStorm Inc.; Jeannine SEFTON, President, Altour Travel Master; Ariel WEINDLING, Attorney, and Partner Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP.
In his inaugural speech, Ralph Levy declared: “The French-American Chamber of Commerce can be summarized in 2 words: Opportunity and Status ! ‘Opportunity’ to create some business, make it grow, and support it through premium corporate services, and ‘Status’ because this Chamber belongs to you, its members. Each new member needs to be coopted by an existing member. It adds value to our network. This is a Chamber where members matter, where members’ voices can be heard and taken into account, a French-American Chamber of Commerce 2.0!”
The FACC-Los Angeles is part of a nationwide network representing more than 20 entities and some 4,000 members. This network is constantly growing, providing valuable business opportunities for its members. A diverse array of industries is represented in the FACC membership, including tech, entertainment, legal, accounting, banking, finance, luxury, consumer goods, digital services, biotech, manufacturing, business consulting, and more. FACC–Los Angeles member companies also greatly vary in terms of size – from large publicly traded corporations to small entrepreneurial firms looking to establish themselves or grow in Los Angeles area or its surrounding region.
The FACC-Los Angeles offers five levels of membership and an exclusive Founding Member status. This status benefits from the highest level of service provided by the FACC.
LinkUP events: Since the FACC-Los Angeles strives to provide its members with immediate access and connections, the first of its ‘LinkUP’ monthly networking events has already been scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Sofitel Hotel’s Riviera 31. Panels and conferences are also to be announced shortly.
‘Together, let’s add dynamism to the French-American business community in Los Angeles,’ concluded Ralph Levy, encouraging the launch event attendees to join the ranks of the new Chamber of Commerce.
